Designed as scenographic elements for exhibitions and interiors, Bottiglie — the Bottles — is a trio of wooden forms that reinterpret the bottle as a theatrical object. Each bottle is crafted from two contrasting finish of ash wood, joined to create a surprising harmony of tone and grain. Created not as functional vessels nor abstract sculptures, they find a place in-between, as defining accents that reflect Ponti’s vision of the home as a stage.

For everyday maintenance dust with a soft dry cloth. For greasy, oily marks (fingerprints) we advise cleaning the surface with alcohol diluted in water, drying immediately with a soft cloth. Products containing acetone, bleach and solvents should be avoided, as should abrasive products, furniture wax and hard fibre cloths (linen and synthetics) which could ruin and/or scratch surfaces. All these operations should be carried out with great care, avoiding heavy pressure. Exposure to direct sunlight can alter the paint or wood colour. For gloss finishes, continued maintenance in time may cause scratching and a reduction in the shiny effect.

Embodying rich imagination, Bottiglie by Gio Ponti is a set of three bottle-shaped sculptures that form a small family of decorative objects. Ponti conceived the home as a stage, where objects create a lively domestic scene. These pieces, taking on their own personality, create their own unique scene allowing the materials to take center-stage as they age and develop character over time.
Created not as functional vessels nor abstract sculptures, they find a place in-between, as defining accents that reflect Ponti’s vision of the home as a stage.
