      Nestled within the picturesque landscape of La Reserva in Sotogrande, Spain, TAI Villa is a striking example of contemporary architecture that seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings. Designed by Manuel Ruiz Moriche of ARK Architects, the villa embodies the timeless principles of Mediterranean living — openness, harmony with nature, and the use of noble materials. Throughout the residence, Molteni&C furnishings play an essential role in shaping the atmosphere of refined comfort and understated luxury. 

       

       

       

       

      Perched on a hillside podium of stone and wood, the villa's elevated volume offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea, creating an uninterrupted dialogue between interior and exterior spaces. Carefully curated to complement the villa’s architectural vision, each Molteni&C piece enhances the fluidity between spaces, reinforcing the project’s philosophy of balance, sustainability, and elegance.

      In the adjacent dining room, the sculptural Porta Volta armchair by Herzog & de Meuron adds a contemporary touch. A second living area features the Surf sofa and side table by Yabu Pushelberg, paired with the iconic D.151.4 armchair by Gio Ponti, emphasizing the home’s blend of modern and classic design elements.

      On the expansive living room terrace, the Sway outdoor sofa and coffee tables by Yabu Pushelberg provide an elegant outdoor retreat, while the Cobea outdoor dining chairs by Vincent Van Duysen grace the dining room terrace, offering a perfect setting for alfresco meals.

      The kitchen is defined by the Barbican chair by Rodolfo Dordoni, providing both functionality and sophistication. The villa’s guest bedrooms are appointed with furnishings that enhance relaxation: the Wish bed by Rodolfo Dordoni, 4040 bedside table by Dante Bonuccelli, and Gillis armchair by Vincent Van Duysen in one room; the Fulham bed by Rodolfo Dordoni, Casper bedside table by Vincent Van Duysen, and Yoell armchair by Vincent Van Duysen in another.

       

       

       

       

       

      A private guest terrace features the Palinfrasca outdoor sofa by Vincent Van Duysen, creating a seamless extension of indoor comfort into the natural environment.

       

      In the TV room, the Cleo sofa by Vincent Van Duysen invites moments of leisure, while the home office is outfitted with the Barbican chair, Piccadilly chair and stool by Rodolfo Dordoni, and the Graduate bookcase by Jean Nouvel, ensuring a workspace that is both functional and stylish. The villa’s spa area continues the theme of relaxation, featuring the Sway outdoor sofa by Yabu Pushelberg and the Greenpoint outdoor chair by Vincent Van Duysen.

       

       

       

       

       

      Ascending to the top floor, the master bedroom is a sanctuary of serenity, furnished with the Aldgate bed and Devon armchair by Rodolfo Dordoni, the Elain armchair by Vincent Van Duysen, and the Alisee side table by Matteo Nunziati.

      Each additional bedroom is equally well-appointed: Bedroom 1 features the Ribbon bed by Vincent Van Duysen and the Chelsea armchair by Rodolfo Dordoni; Bedroom 2 showcases the Ovidio bed and Janet chair, both by Vincent Van Duysen; and Bedroom 3 is elegantly styled with the Alton bed by Vincent Van Duysen and the Devon armchair by Rodolfo Dordoni.

      The Marteen sofa by Vincent Van Duysen is a modular seating and storage system defined by balance, flexibility, and sculptural presence. Its instinctive design alternates solids and voids creating a dynamic rhythm and allowing for an infinite range of compositions, from single poufs to classic two-seaters, or expansive 360° islands. Marteen transforms the way communal spaces are inhabited and shaped, offering a continuity of comfort, functionality, and architectural elegance.

      The Cinnamon armchair by the Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa is a masterpiece of furniture design that seamlessly blends form, function, and comfort. With an air of warmth, the enveloping shape evokes a deep sense comfort and relaxation.

      Nautical furnishings had long been a source of fascination for Gio Ponti when he was commissioned to design an armchair for four ocean liners and two cruises between 1949–1951: the Conte Grande, the Africa, the Oceania, the Conte Biancamano, the Andrea Doria and the Giulio Cesare. His creation, D.151.4, appeared on each, with slight variations in design to match the ship’s interior. This piece captures the spirit of refined travel, blending timeless style with thoughtful ergonomics.

      The Porta Volta Chair by Herzog & de Meuron is an immediately striking piece. The design’s defining element comes from the solid wood back which is curved in a U-shape, creating an inviting and enveloping feel. The floating backrest extends further to create armrests. If desired, the backrest can be bisected by a customizable cushion. Three U-frames with a unique curved “finger joint” lend the piece a detailed softness. The four legs and back are angled slightly outwards which provides a stable and comfortable repose.
