La Mano - the Hand - was born of a creative exchange of letters between Gio Ponti and silversmith Lino Sabattini, where in a simple sketch of a hand by Ponti was answered by a silver hand sculpture by Sabattini.
Formed from a single curved, stainless-steel sheet, this six-fingered hand captures Gio Ponti’s signature sense of irony and creative depth. Simultaneously whimsical and functional, the piece doubles as a sculptural statement and a jewelry holder.
